Characteristics

Paeonia ‘Think Pink’ doesn’t whisper—it declares. This early-blooming variety bursts open with dense, fully double flowers in a saturated, no-nonsense pink. The blooms are full-bodied and domed, catching every shift of light across their ruffled layers. Very high productivity and steady side buds make it a frontrunner for those who want volume with reliability. It’s not just early—it’s ready, steady, and unapologetically bold from day one.

Origin Think Pink Peony

Bred for performance, ‘Think Pink’ was introduced in 2000 to outpace the early-season crowd. It’s a classic lactiflora by build but a bit of a rebel in spirit—where others offer blush or cream, this one delivers colour you can see from across the field. It wasn’t designed to blend in; it was made to lead harvests, fill crates, and anchor bouquets. Growers don’t just like it—they rely on it. And the flower market knows exactly what to do with it.

LACTIFLORA

As a lactiflora, ‘Think Pink’ offers a resilient root system, clean stem architecture, and dependable bloom structure. The flowering period kicks off the season early, giving it a head start when timing matters most. Side buds bring added productivity without compromising shape. Foliage remains upright and healthy through the cycle, making it equally suited for field growing and show planting. Strong, fast, consistent.

How to plant

What follows are the steps for planting Think Pink peony roots:
Peonies flourish in locations with plenty of sunlight and well-draining soil. Choose a location that receives at least six hours of sunlight every day and has organic-rich soil. Create a hole that is 30 cm (12 inches) broad and 10 cm (4 inches) deep. To boost soil fertility, loosen the soil at the bottom of the hole with a garden fork or spade and mix in some compost or well-rotted manure. Remove any stones or trash and break up any clumps. Insert the peony root into the hole so that the eyes (or growth buds) face up and are no more than 5 cm (2 inches) below the soil surface. Backfill the hole with dirt, gently firming it down to remove any air pockets. Thoroughly water the newly planted peony root to help settle the dirt around the roots. Soak the soil around the plant using a watering can or hose, being careful not to wash it away. Mulch the plant’s base with a 5 to 7.5 cm (2 to 3 inch) layer of organic mulch, such as shredded bark or straw.
