Characteristics

Paeonia ‘Roger’s Pink’ doesn’t bluff. It opens early, with full, rose-pink blooms so densely layered they seem sculpted rather than grown. These double flowers sit confidently atop sturdy stems—no flopping, no fuss—each one shaped like a polished dome, firm in structure and surprisingly fresh in tone. There are no side buds to divide attention; this cultivar delivers one strong bloom per stem with focused intent. Since its debut in 2021, ‘Roger’s Pink’ has slipped quickly into the Premium ranks—not for nostalgia, but for sheer performance.

Origin Roger’s Pink Peony

A product of modern breeding precision, ‘Roger’s Pink’ combines old-world bloom aesthetics with contemporary demands: shape, durability, and an early lead in the flowering season. This hybrid doesn’t lean on heritage—it creates its own. With clean lines, compact foliage and a rhythmic uniformity across stems, it’s a peony made for growers who favour reliability over romance. It may carry a personal name, but this flower doesn’t get sentimental. It gets to work.

HYBRID

Built as a true hybrid, ‘Roger’s Pink’ offers compact growth, predictable timing, and flower heads that hold under pressure. No side buds means no surprises at harvest—just single, repeatable blooms with consistent height and shape. Its early flowering gives growers an edge in the season, while its form and tone suit both field production and high-end retail stems. It’s as practical as it is precise.

How to plant

What follows are the steps for planting Roger’s Pink peony roots:
Peonies flourish in locations with plenty of sunlight and well-draining soil. Choose a location that receives at least six hours of sunlight every day and has organic-rich soil. Create a hole that is 30 cm (12 inches) broad and 10 cm (4 inches) deep. To boost soil fertility, loosen the soil at the bottom of the hole with a garden fork or spade and mix in some compost or well-rotted manure. Remove any stones or trash and break up any clumps. Insert the peony root into the hole so that the eyes (or growth buds) face up and are no more than 5 cm (2 inches) below the soil surface. Backfill the hole with dirt, gently firming it down to remove any air pockets. Thoroughly water the newly planted peony root to help settle the dirt around the roots. Soak the soil around the plant using a watering can or hose, being careful not to wash it away. Mulch the plant’s base with a 5 to 7.5 cm (2 to 3 inch) layer of organic mulch, such as shredded bark or straw.
