Characteristics

Paeonia ‘Pink Red Charm’ greets the season with the confidence of a headliner taking the stage. Its early double blooms are a spectacle in themselves—fiercely pink, densely packed, and framed by a sculptural outer layer that cradles its textured centre like silk cupped in satin. No side buds, no distractions: each stem delivers a single, bold bloom with absolute intent. Medium in height and moderate in productivity, this hybrid doesn’t chase abundance—it commands attention. A Premium-category peony with an undeniable visual impact.

Origin Pink Red Charm Peony

While the exact year of its introduction remains undocumented, ‘Pink Red Charm’ speaks for itself through structure and heritage. It’s the product of generations of hybrid refinement—engineered for vigour, precision, and a bloom form that borders on architectural. Hybrid peonies like this were never meant to be background players. Their genetic make-up prioritises strong stems, weather resilience, and ornamental focus. ‘Pink Red Charm’ fits this mold perfectly—built to impress and tailored to hold its shape, even when spring throws its worst.

HYBRID

As a hybrid, ‘Pink Red Charm’ delivers all the functional advantages experienced growers expect—resilient growth, early flowering, and compact form. Its upright stance means no staking, no fuss. And the absence of side buds channels the plant’s full energy into that single, powerhouse bloom per stem. Whether in the field or a curated planting scheme, this variety holds its form and its promise.

How to plant

What follows are the steps for planting Pink Red Charm peony roots:
Peonies flourish in locations with plenty of sunlight and well-draining soil. Choose a location that receives at least six hours of sunlight every day and has organic-rich soil. Create a hole that is 30 cm (12 inches) broad and 10 cm (4 inches) deep. To boost soil fertility, loosen the soil at the bottom of the hole with a garden fork or spade and mix in some compost or well-rotted manure. Remove any stones or trash and break up any clumps. Insert the peony root into the hole so that the eyes (or growth buds) face up and are no more than 5 cm (2 inches) below the soil surface. Backfill the hole with dirt, gently firming it down to remove any air pockets. Thoroughly water the newly planted peony root to help settle the dirt around the roots. Soak the soil around the plant using a watering can or hose, being careful not to wash it away. Mulch the plant’s base with a 5 to 7.5 cm (2 to 3 inch) layer of organic mulch, such as shredded bark or straw.
