CHARACTERISTICS

Paeonia ‘Perfect Princess’ presents a balanced white bloom with poised intensity. This Lactiflora cultivar produces late-season double flowers with compact petals arranged in a rounded, symmetrical dome. The crisp white hue remains steady throughout the flowering window, lending a formal precision to each plant’s overall appearance. With no side buds, ‘Perfect Princess’ offers singular blooms per stem—concentrated, well-defined and ideal for growers targeting uniform harvest and post-harvest presentation. Its modest height and structural consistency make it suitable for premium floriculture where bloom shape, purity and stem discipline are key factors.

ORIGIN PERFECT PRINCESS PEONY

Although the exact origin year remains unknown, ‘Perfect Princess’ adheres to the principles of high-standard Lactiflora breeding: visual clarity, structural regularity and reliable blooming in the late season. Its name suggests refinement and presence—qualities that align with its presentation in the field. Selected for its clean flower form and dependable behaviour, it has become a preferred option among growers focused on premium white cultivars with low maintenance overhead and predictable market performance.

LACTIFLORA

Lactiflora peonies remain the most cultivated class within herbaceous peonies, due to their dependable growth patterns and fibrous root systems. ‘Perfect Princess’ fits within this legacy while offering a specialised expression—white colouration, strong terminal blooming and late-season consistency. The absence of side buds enables more exact bloom timing and stem management, especially beneficial in export-driven environments. It is particularly well-suited for structured cultivation systems and projects where minimal variation is essential.

How to plant

What follows are the steps for planting Perfect Princess peony roots:
Peonies flourish in locations with plenty of sunlight and well-draining soil. Choose a location that receives at least six hours of sunlight every day and has organic-rich soil. Create a hole that is 30 cm (12 inches) broad and 10 cm (4 inches) deep. To boost soil fertility, loosen the soil at the bottom of the hole with a garden fork or spade and mix in some compost or well-rotted manure. Remove any stones or trash and break up any clumps. Insert the peony root into the hole so that the eyes (or growth buds) face up and are no more than 5 cm (2 inches) below the soil surface. Backfill the hole with dirt, gently firming it down to remove any air pockets. Thoroughly water the newly planted peony root to help settle the dirt around the roots. Soak the soil around the plant using a watering can or hose, being careful not to wash it away. Mulch the plant’s base with a 5 to 7.5 cm (2 to 3 inch) layer of organic mulch, such as shredded bark or straw.
