Characteristics

Paeonia ‘Majesty’s Splendor’ enters the season early with tall, upright stems and double salmon blooms that draw the eye from the far end of the field. The colour begins as a delicate blush and deepens slightly at the centre as the flower matures, giving it depth without drama. The bloom is built in rounded, generous layers — never too heavy, always poised. With no side buds and high stem count, this hybrid provides uniformity across blocks and stands tall even during early-morning inspections or field assessments.

Origin MAJESTY’S SPLENDOR Peony

Since its introduction in 2014, ‘Majesty’s Splendor’ has earned its place as a dependable early hybrid for growers working with soft, expressive tones. Its salmon-pink hue bridges the gap between warm blush and light coral, making it highly adaptable within pastel programmes. Selected for its shape, timing and presence, this variety was bred to combine visual volume with structural control — the kind of flower that holds its own in a mix, yet shines solo in full bloom. The name says it all: upright, refined, and clearly premium.

HYBRID

As a hybrid, ‘Majesty’s Splendor’ delivers precision: no side shoots, no misshaped crowns. Each stem produces one flower with consistent form and reliable opening. Its double bloom resists collapse under early-season rain and holds shape in the cold chain. The stem length offers enough height for cutting flexibility, while the bloom remains sturdy during handling. For growers targeting early-salmon with high harvest efficiency, this variety ticks every box — visually striking, logistically sound.

How to plant

What follows are the steps for planting Majesty’s Splendor peony roots:
Peonies flourish in locations with plenty of sunlight and well-draining soil. Choose a location that receives at least six hours of sunlight every day and has organic-rich soil. Create a hole that is 30 cm (12 inches) broad and 10 cm (4 inches) deep. To boost soil fertility, loosen the soil at the bottom of the hole with a garden fork or spade and mix in some compost or well-rotted manure. Remove any stones or trash and break up any clumps. Insert the peony root into the hole so that the eyes (or growth buds) face up and are no more than 5 cm (2 inches) below the soil surface. Backfill the hole with dirt, gently firming it down to remove any air pockets. Thoroughly water the newly planted peony root to help settle the dirt around the roots. Soak the soil around the plant using a watering can or hose, being careful not to wash it away. Mulch the plant’s base with a 5 to 7.5 cm (2 to 3 inch) layer of organic mulch, such as shredded bark or straw.
