Characteristics

Paeonia Glowing Raspberry Rose commands attention from the very first week of peony season. With fiery orange double blooms perched confidently on tall, upright stems, this early hybrid speaks in colour — bright, assertive, unmistakable. Each stem carries a single bloom, allowing full energy to pour into one perfect flower at a time. Its growth is straightforward, its form consistent, and its performance unwavering. Classified as a premium variety, Glowing Raspberry Rose offers growers a reliable choice with bold visual impact and streamlined harvesting.

Origin Glowing Raspberry Rose Peony

Introduced in 1981, this hybrid was bred for those who demand clarity in both colour and timing. Hybrid peonies bring together the best of multiple species: the strength of wild varieties, the elegance of cultivated forms. Glowing Raspberry Rose leans into its heritage with vigour — early to rise, resistant to fuss, and purpose-built for professional cultivation. Its orange bloom is not just ornamental, but intentional: a marker of early-season readiness.

HYBRID

In hybrid peonies, function meets form. Glowing Raspberry Rose exemplifies this: early blooming, no side buds, tall and uniform stems. Designed for growers seeking predictability in premium categories, it thrives in commercial fields where quality and efficiency must go hand in hand. With no need for staking and a reliable build, it’s not just a flower — it’s a working asset.

How to plant

What follows are the steps for planting Glowing Raspberry Rose peony roots:
Peonies flourish in locations with plenty of sunlight and well-draining soil. Choose a location that receives at least six hours of sunlight every day and has organic-rich soil. Create a hole that is 30 cm (12 inches) broad and 10 cm (4 inches) deep. To boost soil fertility, loosen the soil at the bottom of the hole with a garden fork or spade and mix in some compost or well-rotted manure. Remove any stones or trash and break up any clumps. Insert the peony root into the hole so that the eyes (or growth buds) face up and are no more than 5 cm (2 inches) below the soil surface. Backfill the hole with dirt, gently firming it down to remove any air pockets. Thoroughly water the newly planted peony root to help settle the dirt around the roots. Soak the soil around the plant using a watering can or hose, being careful not to wash it away. Mulch the plant’s base with a 5 to 7.5 cm (2 to 3 inch) layer of organic mulch, such as shredded bark or straw.
