Characteristics

Paeonia Hybrid Coral Pom Pom brings lightness and structure together in a bloom that seems sculpted by hand. The double flowers, tightly built and softly domed, emerge in a warm coral-pink that gradually mellows with age — a hue that plays with light throughout the day. This midseason bloomer reaches up to 90 cm in height, with firm, straight stems that carry the weight of each flower with ease. In both the cutting field and the border, Coral Pom Pom offers consistency, poise, and market-ready performance.

Origin Coral Pom Pom Peony

Born from modern hybridisation efforts focused on bloom symmetry and chromatic subtlety, Coral Pom Pom reflects the evolution of peony breeding in the commercial age. It combines the floral resilience of classic herbaceous types with the tonal finesse of newer hybrids. Originally developed to meet the high standards of professional growers, it performs with minimal intervention, making it a practical yet refined choice. Its blossoms maintain form under harvest pressure, while colour transitions gently from deep coral to apricot-blush — offering movement without chaos.

HYBRID

As a hybrid peony, Coral Pom Pom benefits from targeted crossbreeding between species to create a cultivar that balances beauty with field stability. Unlike older varieties that may collapse under weight or lose symmetry during bloom, this cultivar holds. It offers clean foliage, upright posture, and flowering precision — all traits that define the next generation of commercial hybrids. Its colour purity and form retention also make it a reliable cut flower across a variety of markets.

How to plant

What follows are the steps for planting Coral Pom Pom peony roots:
Peonies flourish in locations with plenty of sunlight and well-draining soil. Choose a location that receives at least six hours of sunlight every day and has organic-rich soil. Create a hole that is 30 cm (12 inches) broad and 10 cm (4 inches) deep. To boost soil fertility, loosen the soil at the bottom of the hole with a garden fork or spade and mix in some compost or well-rotted manure. Remove any stones or trash and break up any clumps. Insert the peony root into the hole so that the eyes (or growth buds) face up and are no more than 5 cm (2 inches) below the soil surface. Backfill the hole with dirt, gently firming it down to remove any air pockets. Thoroughly water the newly planted peony root to help settle the dirt around the roots. Soak the soil around the plant using a watering can or hose, being careful not to wash it away. Mulch the plant’s base with a 5 to 7.5 cm (2 to 3 inch) layer of organic mulch, such as shredded bark or straw.
