Characteristics

Paeonia ‘Heavenly White’ opens the season with discipline and grace. This hybrid cultivar bears fully double, creamy-white blooms—unblemished and structured, like pressed linen in early sunlight. With its upright stems and lack of side buds, this peony was bred for precision: every stem tells the same story, making it ideal for uniform harvesting or refined garden design. Its high productivity and balanced height offer a blend of reliability and visual clarity—a cultivar made not for excess, but for excellence.

Origin Heavenly White Peony

Brought into cultivation in 2018, ‘Heavenly White’ is the product of purposeful hybridisation, designed for growers seeking consistency and early returns. As a hybrid, it reflects years of selective breeding, merging traits from diverse peony species to achieve durability, elegance, and earliness in one plant. Its genetic profile offers reduced susceptibility to disease, strong stem formation, and high performance in both open field and controlled environments.

HYBRID

Hybrid peonies are the engineered classics of the peony world—rooted in tradition but shaped by innovation. ‘Heavenly White’ stands in this lineage with quiet authority. While some hybrids dazzle with eccentric forms or flamboyant colours, this cultivar opts for refined order: symmetrical blooms, early presence, and botanical integrity. It’s a favourite not only among commercial growers, but also among those who recognise strength in understatement.

How to plant

What follows are the steps for planting Heavenly White peony roots:
Peonies flourish in locations with plenty of sunlight and well-draining soil. Choose a location that receives at least six hours of sunlight every day and has organic-rich soil. Create a hole that is 30 cm (12 inches) broad and 10 cm (4 inches) deep. To boost soil fertility, loosen the soil at the bottom of the hole with a garden fork or spade and mix in some compost or well-rotted manure. Remove any stones or trash and break up any clumps. Insert the peony root into the hole so that the eyes (or growth buds) face up and are no more than 5 cm (2 inches) below the soil surface. Backfill the hole with dirt, gently firming it down to remove any air pockets. Thoroughly water the newly planted peony root to help settle the dirt around the roots. Soak the soil around the plant using a watering can or hose, being careful not to wash it away. Mulch the plant’s base with a 5 to 7.5 cm (2 to 3 inch) layer of organic mulch, such as shredded bark or straw.
